European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic publishes first articles -

European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic has published its first articles, including an inaugural editorial written by the journal’s editors. The publication is a joint initiative of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR), and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI).

Led by Editor-in-Chief Hatem Alkadhi of Zurich, Switzerland, the journal focuses on cardiovascular and thoracic imaging, providing a dedicated platform for research in these fields.

Minerva Becker, chair of the ESR Board of Directors, noted that the launch reflects collaboration among the three societies and provides a forum for sharing scientific advances and supporting multidisciplinary research in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging.

Ferdia Gallagher, chair of the ESR Publications Committee, highlighted the journal’s role in disseminating research across these areas of radiology. He also noted that Alkadhi’s appointment as editor-in-chief brings international expertise to the publication.

Bernd Hamm, Chief Editor of the ESR Journals, described the new journal as part of the continued development of the ESR’s publishing portfolio and its presence within the international radiology community.

Alkadhi stated that the journal aims to facilitate the timely dissemination of clinically relevant information and current evidence for researchers and clinicians.

The first articles are available through Springer Nature, with additional content expected to be published in the future.
