Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced the establishment of the Collaborative Partnership Program for Australia and New Zealand. Designed as a regional early adopters programme, the programme will facilitate long-term collaboration between Ex Libris and the programme partners during their adoption of the company’s Unified Resource Management (URM) Framework, a platform for the delivery of next-generation library services.
Institutions that are members of the Collaborative Partnership Program include Monash University; Swinburne University of Technology; University of Western Sydney; a consortium of South Australian universities that comprises Flinders University, the University of South Australia, and the University of Adelaide; and UNILINC - a network of academic and research libraries including the Australian Catholic University, Charles Sturt University, and Southern Cross University. As members of the first group in a series of regional collaborative programmes, these institutions will play a significant role in the Ex Libris initiative to accelerate and facilitate the transition to next-generation library services and management systems for major libraries worldwide.
The Collaborative Partnership Program started in October 2010 with a series of seminars and workshops in Melbourne, Australia.
Ex Libris is also continuing its extensive development work for URM with four development partners - Purdue University Library, Boston College, Princeton University Library, and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.Leuven) in Belgium - a Small Libraries Advisory Group, and a series of focus group sessions involving customers that represent institutions worldwide.
