Ex Libris hosts its first Research Management Advisory Council meeting -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the first meeting of the Ex Libris Research Management Advisory Council took place on May 14–16, 2019. The council consists of thought leaders from nine institutions in North America and Europe as well as Ex Libris experts in research management.

The meeting was co-moderated by Roger Schonfeld, director of libraries, scholarly communication, and museums for Ithaka S+R. Participants discussed trends in research management and approaches to current challenges, such as ways in which institutions can increase the impact of research activities, improve scholars’ engagement with research information management systems, and promote open-access initiatives like the Plan S initiative for open-access science publishing. The council will continue to provide guidance for the development of the Ex Libris suite of research solutions, including the Esploro™ research services platform.

In addition to holding annual meetings, the Advisory Council will conduct discussions and analysis of research-related topics in quarterly video conferences and other exchanges throughout the year to enable continuous collaboration.
