The integration enables research offices and faculty leaders to facilitate researchers’ access to global funding opportunities, enrich researcher profiles by capitalizing on the Pivot-RP database of previously awarded grants, and link publications to the grants that supported the research.
A recent Ex Libris–commissioned study indicates that finding high-quality research funding and diversifying funding sources are factors often considered top priority by research offices and scholars. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the funding landscape, leading to fewer opportunities in some disciplines. With the integrated Esploro and Pivot-RP solutions, researchers can access grants directly from their Esploro profile and easily discover funding that matches their area of expertise.
Connecting research publications and grants also offers research administrators visibility into the impact of funding and facilitates compliance with funder mandates and governmental regulations. Esploro data can be exported to systems used for research administration, human resources, and other purposes, to simplify evaluation processes and national assessment reporting.
