FinELib has entered a multi-year membership agreement with OA Switchboard, a central metadata hub, reinforcing a long-standing commitment to open access and cooperation as essential elements supporting Finnish research and learning. The collaboration enables participating institutions to benefit from centralized metadata exchange and automated reporting that support streamlined workflows and analysis.
The agreement was established to provide all FinELib member institutions with the option to use OA Switchboard without additional fees, ensuring broad access across the consortium. The service is expected to enhance data transparency and operational efficiency for libraries and research organizations that rely on metadata-driven processes within scholarly communications.
OA Switchboard operates under Stichting OA Switchboard, a foundation registered in The Hague, the Netherlands. The initiative supports libraries, publishers, and funders through standardized messaging and improved interoperability in open access reporting.
