Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Israel, has announced that the Aleph integrated library system has successfully completed its first year in operation at the University of Oxford's Bodleian Libraries. Supporting over 100 college, department, and other libraries across the university, which together contain 13 million items, the Bodleian library system uses a suite of Ex Libris products for both discovery and resource management. These include: the Primo discovery and delivery solution, the Primo Central Index, the SFX OpenURL link resolver, the bX recommender service and the MetaLib metasearch solution.
The efficient, sophisticated workflows of the Aleph system enable the Bodleian Libraries to meet the rapidly changing expectations of the user community. With support for virtually any combination of library organisation, policies and workflows, Aleph provides the Bodleian Libraries with the flexibility to configure their library system to correspond to the university's federal collegiate structure.
The Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford form the largest university library system in the UK. The combined library collections number more than 11 million printed items, in addition to 50,000 e-journals and vast quantities of materials in other formats.
