BioOne, US, a web-based aggregator of research in biological, ecological and environmental sciences, has announced that five new titles and their not-for-profit publishers have joined the 2013 BioOne Collections. The journals and their respective publishers are: Marine Resource Economics, published by the Marine Resource Foundation; Cryptogamie, Algologie, Cryptogamie, Bryologie, and Cryptogamie, Mycologie, three journals from France's Association des Amis des Cryptogames; and Applications in Plant Sciences, a new, open access, online only publication from the Botanical Society of America.
In 2013 BioOne will be home to 176 total publications, 127 (72%) of which are ISI-ranked. Furthermore, 60 (34%) of BioOne's titles have their current content available online exclusively through BioOne, and 38 (22%) are titles based outside of the US. In addition to its two subscribed collections, BioOne is now home to thirteen open access publications, freely available to all users.
The titles will make their BioOne debut on January 2, 2013. Title lists in a variety of formats are available to download on the BioOne website.
BioOne also announced that as of December 31, 2012, Journal of Crustacean Biology, published by The Crustacean Society, will cease adding new content to BioOne. Subscribers may contact Brill, JCB’s new primary publisher, with any questions. In accordance with both BioOne standard policy and Project Transfer guidelines, all issues previously hosted on BioOne from inactive titles will remain accessible to subscribers in perpetuity.
