ProQuest, part of Cambridge Information Group, has announced that the Choice magazine, a publication of the American Library Association, has named five of its research solutions as Outstanding Academic Titles for 2007.
The recipients - CSA Illustrata: Natural Sciences, Early English Books Online (EEBO), African American Poetry (1760-1900), Twentieth Century African American Poetry and Gerristen Collection - were deemed 'highly recommended' or 'essential' by Choice.
This year's Outstanding Academic Titles list, which includes 597 print titles and 49 electronic resources, was chosen by the editorial staff from the 7,094 titles reviewed this past year. These outstanding works have been selected for their excellence in scholarship and presentation, as well as the significance of their contribution to the field - often their first treatment of their subjects.
