Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced that four nursing textbooks published by the company have been awarded the AJN Book of the Year award by the American Journal of Nursing (AJN). LWW publications were honored in the categories of nursing research, critical care emergency nursing, community public health and electronic media.
AJN claims to be the nation's oldest and largest circulating nursing journal. Its AJN Book of the Year Award competition draws hundreds of submissions by authors from various fields in the nursing profession. A distinguished panel of judges selects those considered the most valuable texts each year.
The four nursing textbooks that were awarded the AJN Book of the Year award are: Community and Public Health Nursing: Evidence for Practice, edited by Gail A. Harkness and Rosanna F. DeMarco; Quick Reference to Critical Care, by Nancy H. Diepenbrock; Lippincott's Nursing Health Assessment Video Series; and Nursing Research: Generating and Assessing Evidence for Nursing Practice, by Denise F. Polit and Cheryl Tatano Beck.
