The Frankfurt Fellowship Programme of Frankfurter Buchmesse is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The programme was created on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1998 and has been promoting international dialogue between young publishing professionals ever since.
In 2018, 105 young publishing professionals from 42 countries applied to participate in the programme – a new record. This year's participants include, for the first time, young professionals from Armenia and Singapore. Beginning October 1, 2018, the 16 Frankfurt Fellows will visit publishing companies and attend networking events in Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne. The highlight of the two-week programme is the Frankfurter Buchmesse (October 10-14, 2018). To celebrate the anniversary, a reception with the Frankfurt Fellows will be held on October 11, to which former programme participants as well as publishers who have hosted the programme will also be invited.
Since 2017, one Frankfurt Fellow each year receives funding from the Kobrak family as the 'Fred Kobrak Frankfurt Fellow'. The 2018 'Fred Kobrak Frankfurt Fellow' is Ana Ojeda from Argentina.
