Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano in Italy is in production with the Ex Libris Alma library management solution. The library adopted the Primo discovery and delivery solution in 2011 to provide users with a unified showcase for all the institution's collections. Complementing Primo, Alma now consolidates all the library's back-office operations in a single, cloud-based solution that will reportedly lead to substantial improvements in efficiency.
According to Elisabeth Frasnelli, library director at the University, the institution's strategic goal has been achieved. The experience during the implementation project was extremely positive, according to her. Ex Libris is stated to have provided a competent team, solution-oriented management of the project, and consistent attention from senior levels at Ex Libris.
Staff members at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano are reportedly looking forward to numerous improvements in their day-to-day activities.
