Frontiers, a global leader in peer-reviewed open access publishing, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with China’s National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) aimed at advancing open science and research dissemination across China's scientific community. This collaboration, effective January 1, 2025, will offer discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs) for authors affiliated with nine of China's most prestigious research institutions when publishing in Frontiers' Neuroscience portfolio journals.
This marks the first large-scale institutional partnership for Frontiers in China, reflecting the publisher’s commitment to making science openly accessible to researchers worldwide. By reducing financial barriers to publishing, the agreement empowers Chinese scientists to share their research with the global community more effectively, fostering international collaboration and accelerating advancements in neuroscience and related fields.
Researchers affiliated with the nine institutions covered under this partnership will have access to 15 top-tier neuroscience journals in the Frontiers portfolio. This partnership is poised to enhance the visibility and impact of Chinese research by facilitating access to globally respected neuroscience journals. With reduced APCs, Chinese researchers will benefit from increased opportunities to publish their work openly, driving global collaboration and advancing scientific discovery.
This initiative aligns with Frontiers' mission to make science accessible to all, empowering researchers to collaborate more effectively and innovate faster. By eliminating financial hurdles, the partnership ensures that groundbreaking Chinese research will have a more prominent voice in the global scientific community.
