Frontiers and Delft University of Technology sign flat fee open access agreement for 2025 -

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Frontiers have expanded their partnership with a 2025 flat-fee open access publishing agreement. In place since 2014, the collaboration supports open science, research accessibility, and sustainable academic publishing.

Under the agreement, TU Delft researchers can publish unlimited articles in any Frontiers open-access journal without paying individual article publishing charges (APC). The TU Delft Library covers costs via a single annual fee, providing a more cost-effective and scalable publishing solution for the university.

Key benefits for TU Delft include:

• Predictable annual budgeting through a transparent flat-fee model.

• Reduced administrative burden for the library and research support teams.

• Full retention of author copyrights under the CC-BY license.

Authors must be affiliated with TU Delft and use their institutional email address when submitting a manuscript to be eligible. By partnering with Frontiers, TU Delft is demonstrating its leadership in open science. The collaboration removes financial and logistical barriers for its researchers, allowing for faster and broader dissemination of their work. This initiative helps create a more transparent and globally connected scientific ecosystem, accelerating innovation and improving public access to academic knowledge.

TU Delft, as a leading technical university in Europe, continues to set an example for others by aligning its publishing practices with the values of open access and research integrity.
