Frontiers and Max Planck Society sign funding agreement -

Open access publisher Frontiers Media, Switzerland, and research organisation Max Planck Society (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft), Germany, have signed a funding agreement to support scientific authors who submit research papers to all Frontiers journals.

Effective November 1, 2011, all publication charges for research articles submitted by authors affiliated with any Max Planck Institute will be directly and fully funded by the Max Planck Society. This institutional agreement is valid for all current and future Frontiers journals.

Frontiers is an international open access publishing enterprise founded in 2007. Since then, Frontiers has launched journals covering 12 academic fields in the life sciences, with planned expansion into several more, and has published more than 3,500 peer reviewed papers. The Frontiers website currently receives an average of 2 million page views per month. More than half a million open access scientific papers have been downloaded freely from Frontiers journals.
