Frontiers becomes first publisher to contribute metadata to Open Life Science Publication Database -

Frontiers, a Gold open access publisher, has deepened its collaboration with ZBMed, the German center for life sciences, by agreeing to deposit its article metadata into the newly launched Open Life Science Publication Database (OLSPub). As the first publisher to commit metadata to OLSPub, Frontiers broadens the visibility of its peer-reviewed research through this emerging platform.

Frontiers’ content, already accessible under a CC BY license, is freely available online and supports unrestricted reuse provided works are properly cited. By expanding metadata coverage across repositories, Frontiers enhances the discoverability of its articles, contributing to increased citations, public engagement, and interdisciplinary reach. This extends existing partnerships with a wide array of repositories, such as PubMed Central, Web of Science, Scopus, DOAJ, Crossref, DeepGreen, Dimensions, IET Inspec, Embase, EBSCO, APA PsycInfo, SCImago, ADS/NASA, ResearchGate, and CLOCKSS.

Frontiers emphasizes that extending its metadata distribution aligns with open science principles to bolster trust, enabling the research community to locate, access, and utilize findings as broadly as possible.
