Science and Research Content

Frontline Medical Communications’ Federal Practitioner now included in PubMed Central -

Frontline Medical Communications (FMC), publishers of Federal Practitioner®, part of the MDedgeTM Network, has announced that its full-text peer-reviewed articles, editorials, columns and special issues content, as of January 2015, are available through the National Library of Medicine (NLM) PubMed Central® (PMC) index.

Inclusion in PMC means that Federal Practitioner has passed a rigorous scientific and technical review of its editorial content and is recognised for the quality of scholarship the journal publishes. Through PMC, Federal Practitioner furthers its mission to educate federal health care providers (HCPs) and provide a forum for sharing health-care related studies, best practices, guidelines, program profiles, and case studies.

Now, more HCPs can easily access Federal Practitioner's clinical education and research, expanding the audience for Federal Practitioner authors. Federal HCPs can discuss and share with colleagues in the Military Health System, Veterans Health Administration, and Indian Health Service, collectively among the largest integrated health care systems in the U.S. These continuous engagements among the larger public health community - health care researchers, clinical educators, authors, and providers - contribute more fully to ongoing debates and ultimately lead to improving patient-centered, clinical care.

PMC is an integral part of the NLM MEDLINE/PubMed database of 28 million biomedical citations and abstracts from more than 5,000 scholarly journals, reaching about 2.5 million users in the US daily. The value of PMC is its capacity to store and cross-reference data from diverse sources within a single repository, including international archives.
