Publisher Future Science Group (FSG) has announced the launch of EpigenomicsNet, a new online community for professionals with an interest in this area of scientific development. The portal, which is free to join, will allow users to share their own written content and video blogs using the platform's unique, user-friendly tools. In addition, the in-house editors will provide breaking news within the field of epigenomics, essential information about clinical trials and drug development, and exclusive member-only access to peer-reviewed content from FSG's MEDLINE-listed journal Epigenomics (2014 Impact Factor 4.649).
One of the most exciting developments to come out of the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 was the emergence of the field of epigenomics, which promises to elucidate the inner workings of the genome. The power of this new discipline lies in its promise to provide us with novel insights into the inner workings of our genomes through its potential to detect quantitative changes, multiple modifications and the regulatory sequences outside that of our gene sequences.
Numerous strategies have emerged to detect large numbers of DNA methylation variations and chromatin modifications – two mechanisms that are at the core of epigenomic research.
Previously known as GenomicsNet, the site was recently relaunched as EpigenomicsNet. Interested parties may visit www.epigenomicsnet.com to register for free access.
