Future Science Group launches International Journal of Pharmacokinetics -

Future Science Group (FSG) has announced the launch of the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics, a new peer-reviewed online and print publication dedicated to addressing all aspects of pharmacokinetic research. The journal is the latest addition to the internationally recognized Future Science portfolio and is supported by a multidisciplinary, international editorial board comprising leading researchers and opinion leaders from academia and industry.

The International Journal of Pharmacokinetics captures the latest key innovations and debate emerging in this interdisciplinary field and will serve as an authoritative forum for insights in to the latest advances in the design and execution of pharmacokinetic studies for the next generation of pharmaceutical products. Coverage encompasses the full scope of this far-reaching field, from both pre-clinical and clinical studies on single drugs and drug classes, to explorations of the mechanisms and techniques impacting such studies. The journal also features insights from related areas of endeavor including pharmacodynamics, bioequivalence, pharmacogenetics, toxicity, metabolomics and pharmacometrics.

The inaugural issue presents a wide range of high quality articles including original research from editorial board member Michel Tod and colleagues in which they analyse and compare different techniques for quantitatively predicting the magnitude of drug–drug interactions. This first installment also includes two fascinating commentaries from editorial board members Tomasz Grabowski and David Small on issues with pharmacokinetic terminology used for biologics and for expressing changes in magnitudes of numbers, respectively. In an original research article, Grabowski and colleagues also provide mathematical justification for the use of deterministic chaos theory for estimating wash-out value.

All content published in the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics will be free-to-access until April 2017. The editorial office is now actively soliciting contributions of original research, reviews and perspective pieces for the journal.
