Future Science Group (FSG) will be launching their newest resource, The Evidence Base, at the upcoming ISPOR 2019 Conference. The Evidence Base is a free-to-join, online community to share knowledge, discuss the latest research and continue developments in real-world data and its applications to real-world problems in healthcare. The site covers hot topics in real-world evidence, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered decision making and much more.
Real-world evidence has a vital role to play in today’s increasingly strained healthcare systems. It has never been more important to understand the impact of different treatments on the health of the population and at the individual level, including patient outcomes and cost implications. While evidence from randomised controlled trials (RCTs) will continue to play a vital role in providing data for the approval of new products, the evidence base is now expanding, and trust in real-world data (data obtained outside the traditional RCT framework, from sources including observational research, electronic medical records, disease registries and more) is increasing.
The Evidence Base provides a go-to site to share news and knowledge to help drive this exciting field forward. Members benefit from the latest news and developments in real-world evidence along with the ability to connect with their peers; paving the way to expand their knowledge and foster future collaboration. In addition, the site provides free access to select peer-reviewed content from FSG’s range of journals, including the Journal of Comparative Effectiveness Research (Medline-indexed, Impact Factor: 1.906 ) along with interviews, conference reports and exclusive commentary from subject experts and thought leaders.
