Future Science OA, the Gold (CC-BY) open access journal from Future Science Group, has announced its Article Processing Charge (APC) discounting options.
Early Career Researchers, who are within the first 5 years of their career, will be eligible for a 50 percent discount on articles where they appear as the corresponding author. To confirm eligibility, authors will be asked to submit a signed letter from their Head of Department confirming their status.
Peer reviewers who have submitted timely, constructive peer reviews, will be eligible for a 10 percent discount on their fees, as a thank you for their services.
In addition, previous authors will be eligible for a loyalty discount of 50 percent on their subsequent articles. Authors from countries classified as low income or lower-middle income countries by the World Bank will be eligible for a 100 percent fee waiver.
The APCs for Future Science OA are transparent and simple, using a two-tier method. The charges are available online at http://www.future-science.com/page/journal/fso/fees.
During its launching phase, Future Science OA is offering a fee waiver on all submitted and accepted articles. This will end May 25, 2015. Articles submitted after this date will subsequently incur an APC charge once accepted for publication. This fee will support the journal's Editorial activities, and help it maximise its utility to authors.
