GeoScienceWorld (GSW)’s journal Lithosphere appoints first editorial board members -

GeoScienceWorld (GSW), a nonprofit collaborative and comprehensive resource for research and communications in the Geosciences, has announced the appointment of the following Lithosphere Editorial Board members: Matt Balme, Senior Lecturer, Planetary Environments, Open University, UK; YanniGunnell, Professor, Université Lumière Lyon 2, France; Wendy Li-Wen Mao, Professor of Geological Sciences and Photon Science, Stanford University, USA; Gene Rankey, Professor, Department of Geology, University of Kansas, USA; Sarah Roeske, Research Geologist, UC Davis, USA; Julie Rowland (JR), Head of School of Environment, The University of Auckland, New Zealand; and Homoud AlAnzi, Geological Operations Department, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia.

These are the first Section Editors and Associate Editors to be appointed to the Board. Under the journal’s distributed editorship model, the journal plans to appoint a total of 10 Section Editors, each focused on one of the many geoscience subdisciplines covered by the journal’s expanded scope. Associate Editors will oversee peer review and editorial decisions.

Originally published by GSA with a narrower scope, the relaunched Lithosphere will provide a unique publishing choice for authors in the geoscience community, achieved through an alliance between GSW and leading nonprofit societies, including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), The Geological Society of America (GSA), Geological Society of London (GSL), Mineralogical Society of America (MSA), SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology, Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and Society of Economic Geologists (SEG). With a scope covering research in all areas of earth, planetary, and environmental sciences, the development of this diverse international editorial board and reviewer base with expertise across the geosciences supports the journal’s mission and expanded scope.
