The Health Council of Canada has announced the launch of its new Health Innovation Portal. The Health Innovation Portal is a website that houses innovative healthcare practices, policies, programmes and services from across Canada.
The portal includes a searchable database of innovative practices, an overview and explanation of the Health Council's Innovative Practices Evaluation Framework, information for identifying and sharing health innovations and information on the Health Council's Health Innovation Challenge for students.
The user-friendly, searchable database features over 240 innovative practices, with a range of keyword search options and intuitive outputs, such as dynamic PDFs of practice descriptions and links to original source material.
The Innovative Practices Evaluation Framework was developed to ensure consistent and transparent evaluation of innovative practices into three categories - emerging, promising and leading. The Health Innovation Portal includes explanation of the inclusion and evaluation criteria and the rating guide used to categorise practices.
