Hearst Magazines promotes Thomas Ghareeb to Vice President and Controller -

Hearst Magazines has announced that Thomas Ghareeb has been appointed vice president and controller, replacing Fred Hanft, who is retiring after more than four decades of dedicated service to the company. Ghareeb, starting in his new role on January 1, will oversee the accounting, budget, forecast, financial reporting and billing for Hearst Magazines. He will report to Hearst Magazines Senior Vice President of Finance Jack Rohan.

With a career at Hearst Magazines spanning 25 years, Ghareeb has been assistant controller of budget and forecasting at Hearst Magazines since 2005. Previously, he served as assistant controller of general accounting and prior to that, director of accounting. Ghareeb started at Hearst Magazines as a staff accountant in 1989.

Hearst Magazines is a unit of Hearst Corporation, one of US's largest diversified media and information companies. With 21 titles in the US, Hearst is the leading publisher of monthly magazines in terms of total paid circulation (AAM 1H 2014) and reaches 80 million adults.
