HighWire Press and ACCP release full-text CHEST journal app for iPhone and iPad -

HighWire Press, a not-for-profit division of Stanford University libraries, and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) have announced the release of a universal, full-text app of the CHEST Journal for the iPad and iPhone devices. The new app allows users of these devices to access complete journal content anywhere, anytime and for a limited time, without charge.

The CHEST Journal native iPhone/iPad app allows readers to access the journal's current content and Papers in Press. Articles are optimised for the iOS, as well as available in PDF. Full-screen images and figure- and table-only viewing options are also available. Dynamic side navigation and internal hyperlinks allow users to jump within article sections, images, and references. Viewing history is tracked automatically, sorted by date viewed. Additionally, users can mark and store favourite articles for later reference and control article font size from any page.

A mobile-optimised, device-agnostic CHEST journal site also is in development, which will allow anyone with a web browser on a mobile device of any brand or operating system to access, browse, and read the journal in a more streamlined manner.
