Global education provider Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) has announced the appointment of Russ Carlson as Executive Vice President of its Enterprise Solutions Group. In his new position, Carlson will develop, drive and execute a cohesive, end-to-end strategy for K-12 learning solutions across the country.
HMH's Enterprise Solutions Group is tasked with leveraging the company's leadership position in platform and data management, assessments, content, technology and services to deliver complete, outcomes-oriented solutions. It ensures that the award-winning array of HMH products and services are appropriately matched to all school districts based on student, teacher, and administrator needs, in order to provide the best possible solutions.
A 30-year veteran of the technology industry, Carlson most recently served as CEO of Overture Technologies Inc., a company providing financial services technology to both the mortgage and student loan markets. He also served as the President of Blackboard, Inc. where he was responsible for the domestic eLearning business and its 1,500 clients.
