ICSTI 2009 public conference: Managing Data for Science to be held in Ottawa -

The International Council for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) has announced that the ICSTI 2009 Public Conference: Managing Data for Science will be held from June 9-10, 2009, at Library and Archives Canada, in Ottawa. For registration and more information, visit www.icsti2009.org.

The conference will address how sharing research data is essential for effective collaboration and examine how researchers, librarians and publishers can work together to create structures for managing and communicating scientific data. Speakers include Lee Dirks from Microsoft Inc. and Paul Uhlir from the US National Research Council and experts from around the world who will explore the respective contributions of researchers, librarians and publishers to eScience initiatives.

As Canada's national science library and leader in promoting and supporting national collaborative research data initiatives, NRC Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (NRC-CISTI) is organising the conference.
