Technical professional association IEEE, US, has announced the addition of Rodney Spady as senior director, digital marketing and communications. Spady, who recently assumed this newly-created position, will lead the teams responsible for managing the public face of IEEE. These areas include IEEE branding, corporate communications, public visibility initiatives, creative services, and social media.
Spady, a member of the IEEE Marketing, Sales, and Design team, will play a key role in the strategic effort to raise the profile and manage the perception of the IEEE brand across global markets, the public, and other key audiences.
Through its more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, IEEE is the leading authority on a wide variety of technology areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics. IEEE publishes 30 percent of the world’s literature in the electrical and electronics engineering and computer science fields and produces technology standards, technical conferences, and professional and educational activities.
Before joining IEEE, Spady served as director of integrated marketing and media for Johnson and Johnson Inc.’s (J&J) Global Marketing Group based out of New York City. In this capacity, he focused on digital marketing and media efforts for J&J’s over the counter and nutritional brands.
