IEEE broadens publishing routes to meet global author compliance needs -

IEEE has outlined a publishing approach intended to accommodate authors’ diverse compliance requirements worldwide. The organization aims to provide a publication pathway suitable for any author’s circumstances—regardless of funding status, applicable publishing mandates, or country of work—while maintaining coverage across engineering and computing disciplines.

Authors can select from traditional subscription journals, hybrid options with open access routes, and fully open access venues. Notable options include:

• IEEE Access — Multidisciplinary, fully open access; more than 100,000 articles published to date.

• IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society — Fully open access, focused on latest emerging topics and trends covering all aspects of the computing field.

• Fully Open Access Topical Journals — A growing set of 30+ titles across specific technology areas.

• Hybrid Journals — 180+ journals and magazines offering an open access option.

The model is structured to support dissemination and compliance with funder and institutional policies, while allowing authors and readers to choose access routes that suit their needs.
