IEEE introduces four eLearning courses and a new Massive Open Online Course -

IEEE has announced the availability of four new IEEE eLearning courses through the IEEE Standards University, and a new IEEE MOOC entitled Innovation and Competition: Succeeding through Global Standards.

The IEEE Foundation Fund and the IEEE Life Members Fund provided funding for the MOOC, which can be accessed at no cost and is delivered via edX, a leading provider of online learning. Upon completion of the course, participants have the opportunity to purchase an official verified certificate awarded by IEEE, with the institution's logo to verify the course achievement.

The four new eLearning courses are: Ethics in Standards Development and Application; How to Read and Use an Engineering Standard; Introduction to Conformity Assessment; IEEE Standard 1588: Standard for a Precision Clock Synchronization Protocol for Networked Measurement and Control Systems. eLearning courses require a small access fee, and are accessible via IEEE Standards University and the IEEEXplore® Digital Library.

The IEEE Standards University, a joint program of IEEE Educational Activities and the IEEE Standards Association, works to promote the importance of standards to meet technical, economic, environmental, and societal challenges by disseminating learning materials on the application of standards in the design and development aspects of educational programs.
