IEEE-SA exhibiting at International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas -

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) has announced that it is exhibiting at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, on January 10-13. IEEE-SA and the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), an international forum for the exchange of ideas on communications and information networking, will share Booth 35307 in the Las Vegas Convention Center and World Trade Center (LVCC) South Hall Upper Level.

IEEE-SA at 2012 International CES will show how it is enabling consumer connectivity through consensus building, by showcasing standards-development projects in a wide variety of areas. These include mobile video, Smart Grid-into-home devices, home networking, electric vehicles and medical devices.

Among the highlights in Booth 35307, IEEE-SA will offer mobile-video demonstrations related to ongoing standards-development projects such as IEEE P2200 – Standard Protocol for Stream Management in Media Client Devices.

IEEE-SA seeks to help foster consumer connectivity by bringing industry together to craft interoperable standards for products that consumers require. IEEE-SA’s processes for consensus building impact the entire standards lifecycle including pre-standards technology exploration, standards development and market implementation. Its inclusion of all important voices is seen to have an unparalleled track record when it comes to creating the standards that connect people.

With more than four decades of success, the International CES is stated to reach across global markets, connect the industry and enable CE innovations to grow and thrive. The event is owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which represents more than 2,000 corporate members involved in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronics products.
