The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a technical professional association, has announced that the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Standards Board has approved a revised standard for metric practice. The IEEE-SA has also published a revised standard in artificial intelligence.
The approved revision of standard, IEEE SI_10 - Standard for Metric Practice - will revise information on the international system of metric units (SI), which is a list of units recognised for use with SI and a list of conversion factors. It will also offer general guidance on style and usage. A list of older 'metric' units that should no longer be used will also be included.
The published IEEE 1232, designed for developers of diagnostic applications, addresses all the complex domain of system test and diagnosis and specifies formal semantic models for information exchange and services. IEEE 1232 is now available for purchase at the IEEE Standards Store.
