Electronic content delivery solutions provider Impelsys, US, has announced iPublishCentral 3.1, an enhanced version of its software platform that enables publishers to sell and distribute digital content on the Web.
iPublishCentral is a full-service electronic publishing solution that allows publishers to publish, deliver, distribute and market eBooks. The platform gives publishers all the tools they need to manage and monetise their digital assets without making significant development investments on their own.
In iPublishCentral 3.1, the company has rolled out new features to improve the reading experience for end users. Specific enhancements include the addition of keyboard shortcuts, the ability to highlight text and save those highlights, and a new offline reader that comes with the same look and feel as the online reader.
The new version also includes refined tools to help publishers increase their revenues by regulating access to content. With iPublishCentral 3.1, publishers can now set the maximum number of concurrent users at a title level when selling eBooks to libraries and large institutions, can support authentication programmes such as EZproxy and Athens in order to protect their content from outsiders, and enable search bots to better search for and discover books.
