Improved functionality online for AOSSM journals -

Academic publisher SAGE has announced that the online versions of the journals of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM) have been launched with new features and improved functionality. The American Journal of Sports Medicine, now in volume 37, and Sports Health: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach, a January 2009 launch, will publish on the new site. The changes incorporate new HighWire Press 2.0 features and functionality.

The new user interface is a flexible three-column design that makes features available without taking attention away from the substantive page content. Features most closely associated with the page content are placed closest to it. A major goal of the new design is to keep you in context as you conduct your research.

Other changes include an abstract preview; tag-along navigation; feature hideaway, where author affiliations, related links, and other article enhancements can be expanded or hidden; popular-articles list; new site design and navigation for enhanced user experience; and enhanced XML-based site. All personalisation settings, alerts, usernames/passwords, and subscription data are carried over from the previous site version.
