In Review, the innovative service which integrates early sharing and increased transparency in peer review with the journal submission and peer review process, is now available on over 500 Springer Nature journals, including the Nature and BMC portfolios, extending across disciplines such as physics, engineering, plant, and animal sciences.
As with the other In Review-enabled Springer Nature journals, authors submitting to one of these integrated titles will be given the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out of the service. Authors submitting to these titles will be able to utilize In Review to realize the benefits of early sharing, enabling them to easily cite and share their work while it is still under review, as well as benefit from transparency into the peer review progress with real-time updates on a private dashboard. If the paper is rejected after peer review, all information about imprint and peer review status will be removed with the preprint continuing to be available on the platform.
The latest journal integrations are a clear indication of Springer Nature’s commitment to early sharing and discovery. The service will continue to be expanded across the publishers’ portfolio, with an estimated 400+ journals due to be added through 2022, with the aim that over half of the publisher portfolio will be able to benefit from the integrated services by year-end.
Authors submitting to In Review can also take advantage of the latest features and improvements to the service, including an automatic version of record (VOR) linking for articles as they are published in peer-reviewed journals, in-browser PDF viewing of preprints, and unified search functionality.
