Inaugural issue of Physical Review Applied now available online -

The first issue of Physical Review Applied (journals.aps.org/prapplied) is now available online. The latest journal from the American Physical Society (APS) family of journals debuts with seven papers that represent the high-quality and breadth of research sought after by the editors.

Along with the seven inaugural articles, two editorials also appear online. One serves as an introduction to the journal and the other highlights two articles chosen as Editor's Suggestions. Physical Review Applied strives to provide authors with a fair, thorough, and quick review process and will publish Letters, Research Articles, and Review Articles at the intersection of physics and engineering.

The journal seeks to promote the publication of the highest quality papers at the intersection of physics and engineering. Papers in conventional applied physics, including research into materials science, surface and interface physics, device physics, condensed matter physics and optics are welcome. Additionally, papers by physicists working on problems in engineering, and by engineers investigating systems involving physical mechanisms are also invited.
