Techstreet, part of the Intellectual Property (IP) & Science business of Thomson Reuters, recently presented the bi-annual Standards Publishers Innovation Forum (SPIF). Leaders from the standards publishing industry gathered May 16th in Alexandria, VA for the spring forum, Protecting Your IP Assets: Detection, Prevention and Remediation for Standards Developing Organizations. The forum focused on the challenges of protecting intellectual property in the standards industry and featured speakers from FileOpen Systems, ASTM International and MarkMonitor.
The full-day interactive session offered industry experts and standards professionals the opportunity to engage in informative and stimulating discussions on one of the biggest challenges facing standards developing organisations, the protection of intellectual property assets. Experts in digital rights management, brand protection, standards publishing, and copyright litigation shared their perspectives on how these topics impact the standards industry and discussed strategies for addressing the protection of intellectual property assets.
The forum's speakers included Elizabeth Murphy, marketing and business development, FileOpen Systems; John Pace, director of licensing, ASTM International; Terri Denver and Samuel Bahun of MarkMonitor.
Launched in 2012, the Standards Publishers Innovation Forum is held bi-annually to address key issues in the standards industry. The forum provides participants a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders, collaborate with peers, and help shape the future of the standards publishing industry.
