informa launches book on image guided radiation therapy for prostate cancer -

Medical scientific publisher informa Healthcare, UK, a division of Informa plc, has announced the launch of a new book titled Image-Guided Radiation Therapy of Prostate Cancer. The book is claimed to be the first of its kind to provide information on recommended RT doses, fractionation schedules, target volume delineation and IGRT (Image Guided Radiation Therapy) procedures and policies - all in a single resource.

To date, the specific causes of prostate cancer remain unknown. Prostate cancer is most common among men and is the second leading cause of cancer death in the US. Surgery and radiation therapy are the two most common of the treatment options available. Edited by Dr. Richard Valicenti, Dr. Adam Dicker and Dr. David Jaffray, authorities in the field of IGRT research, the book provides disease stage-specific IGRT guidelines and step-by-step description of current techniques. It provides information of critical importance to radiation oncologists, radiologists, urologists and other professionals working in the field.

informa Healthcare delivers authoritative research and analysis, up-to-the-minute news, comment and debate for all sectors of the healthcare and life sciences communities. The company seeks to serve the commercial needs of business leaders, the research needs of the scientific community and the 'good practice' needs of healthcare professionals around the world.
