Brett Thomas and Ian Hames have been appointed as directors of business development in EMEA. Thomas, an executive with more than 13 years' experience in the publishing industry, has led business development efforts in several European territories including Spain, Denmark and the UK. Hames joins Ingram after three years at Oxford University Press where he headed online sales.

Ruth Jones, who joined Ingram DigitalSM in April 2008, has assumed the role of Director, Publisher Business Development for the region. Jones has over 20 years' experience in the publishing, library and electronic information industries. Prior to this, she spent three years as head of product development at the British Library and was previously General Manager of Extenza, the e-journal platform provider.

The enhancement to Ingram Digital's EMEA operations follows a series of initiatives launched by the company in 2008 aimed at expanding its ability to provide a comprehensive portfolio of solutions to optimise digital strategies.
