Innovative, a leading provider of technology solutions and services that empower libraries and enrich their users worldwide, has announced that Grant McDougall has been named Director of Operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with responsibility for management of Innovative's growing operations throughout the region.
Innovative Interfaces originally established its EMEA headquarters in Dublin in August 2012 and now employs 25 people in customer and technical support, software development, system analysis, and finance. On June 2, Innovative announced the acquisition of VTLS, a global library technology provider, which has a Barcelona office and customers and operations throughout Europe.
McDougall will play a key role in integrating VTLS staff and customers into the Innovative community and will focus on serving and supporting all Innovative customers and partners in EMEA.
McDougall has 20 years experience in library technology, including both university and public libraries. He has completed a number of major library technology projects, including the implementation of library systems for the University of the Highlands and Islands and the People's Network in Aberdeen. He was previously Faculty Librarian for Science and Technology at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
