STM publisher InTech, Croatia, has announced the inclusion of 620 books in the Inspec database and the International Journal of Engineering Business Management entering the Scopus database.
In 2011 alone, the number of downloaded book chapters and articles outperformed the number of any year between 2005 and 2010 and exceeded the combined totals for each of the preceding years to currently stand at 3.8 million downloads to date.
The Inspec (IET - The Institution of Engineering and Technology) database is widely recognised as the leading information resource for scientists and engineers, while Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature in the world.
The news follows a year of record growth for the company, the recent appointment of its new managing director, Henk Compier - a veteran of the STM publishing industry, and the opening of InTech's first overseas offices in Shanghai, China.
