IntechOpen journals celebrates first anniversary of open science portfolio -

Spring 2022 marked a significant milestone for IntechOpen as they ventured into the realm of Open Science by launching a portfolio of journals. Now, one year later, they are celebrating the successful first anniversary of their foray into Open Science.

The IntechOpen Open Science journal portfolio currently comprises three titles: AI, Computer Science and Robotics Technology; Digital Medicine and Healthcare Technology; and Green Energy and Environmental Technology. These journals have fostered an inclusive and collaborative scientific environment within rapidly evolving interdisciplinary fields at the forefront of technology, environmental sciences, and human health.

Over the past year, the journal's team has actively encouraged inter-disciplinarity and international collaborations through the launch of eleven special issues. By doing so, they have remained at the forefront of emerging trends and discoveries while promoting collaboration across diverse research domains.

In addition to their contributions to the scientific community, the journal portfolio has served as a platform for IntechOpen to advocate for Open Science and transparent research practices. They have organized and conducted a series of well-received webinars on Open Science, aimed at educating the academic community. Furthermore, they have been pioneers in exploring and implementing infrastructures to foster the use of Open Science methods among researchers.

IntechOpen is proud of its active participation in industry initiatives aligned with their open values. They have partnered with ASAPbio's Publish Your Reviews initiative, which encourages peer reviewers to share their reviews alongside preprints. Additionally, they have collaborated with The Climate Change Knowledge Cooperative, led by research communication companies Kudos and Impact Science, to summarize crucial climate research in plain language.

During the 2022 Open Access Week, IntechOpen centered its efforts around the theme "Open for Climate Justice." They emphasized the significance of climate-related research within the context of Open Access and Open Science, collaborating closely with Impact Science.

As partners and exhibitors, IntechOpen eagerly anticipates their participation in the upcoming International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). This conference provides an excellent opportunity for them to showcase their portfolio, interact with researchers, and contribute to scholarly discourse.

In line with their continued growth and evolution, IntechOpen introduced a refreshed logo for all three journals as they shaped and developed the identity of their portfolio.

Looking ahead, IntechOpen is enthusiastic about the future and committed to sustained growth and scholarly innovation. As they embark on their second year, they warmly invite the global academic community to actively participate in shaping the future of their journals and advancing Open Science.
