The International Journal of Climatology announced changes to the Editorial team following the conclusion of Bill Collins’s term as Editor in Chief on October 31. Bill joined the journal in 2021 and contributed significantly to the journal’s development during that period. Chris White, who has served as Deputy Editor in Chief for more than four years, succeeds Bill and will serve as Co-Editor in Chief alongside Enric Aguilar.
The transition also includes an update to the Senior Editorial team, with Thanos Athanassios—recipient of the journal’s Editor Award—moving into Chris’s previous role.
Additional adjustments were made to the Editorial Board team. Longstanding Associate Editors John Abatzoglou and Ian McKendry will step down at the end of 2025 after many years of service. New Associate Editors joining the team include Mohammed Sarfaraz Gani Adnan from Brunel University (UK) and Masoud Rostami from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (Germany), both of whom began on September 1. Thomas Ballinger from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (USA) and Oleg Skrynyk from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute (Ukraine) began on October 1, while Pushp Tiwari from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) joined on November 1.
