IOP Publishing (IOPP) and TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology have extended their partnership for another three years. The agreement covers read access and publishing services for researchers at 80 German institutions participating in the TIB Consortium.
Under the renewed arrangement, affiliated researchers will continue to benefit from unlimited open access publishing opportunities in 53 hybrid journals and 22 fully open access journals within the IOPP portfolio. Projections indicate that more than 2,000 articles will be made freely available to the global scientific community, enhancing visibility and accessibility of research outputs. Access to paywalled content also remains part of the deal for researchers and students at participating institutions.
Dr. Irina Sens, Deputy Director of TIB, noted that the agreement enables physicists to publish open access in IOPP journals without financial or administrative barriers. She added that the publisher had responded to key demands of the German scholarly community, including transparent pricing structures and researcher‑friendly contract terms.
Julian Wilson, Chief Sales Officer at IOPP, emphasized that the renewal marked an important milestone in the partnership with TIB. He highlighted the trust built over many years and the shared commitment to providing services that support German institutions and their researchers.
