Non-profit scientific publisher Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP), UK, has introduced e-only subscriptions for 2010. The new e-only option will allow customers to renew 2009 subscriptions to all IOP Publishing-owned titles in 2010 with no price increase. E-only versions of IOP journal packages will also be available for the first time.
In addition, IOP continues to invest in providing open access options to the physical sciences community. The company now offers six free-to-read titles including: Environmental Research Letters; IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science; Journal of Physics: Conference Series; New Journal of Physics; Science and Technology of Advanced Materials and IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (new for 2010).
For improving online services, IOP will be investing heavily in updating existing electronic journals service to include the latest in emerging technologies in 2009-10.
