IOP Publishing (IOPP) has announced its support for the Government of India’s One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, a groundbreaking program designed to provide nationwide access to high-quality scholarly research. The initiative ensures that students, faculty, and researchers from India’s higher education and R&D institutions can access leading academic content, overcoming the challenges posed by budget constraints.
By centralizing subscription licenses, ONOS extends access to research resources to a broader range of institutions, particularly those that previously lacked the financial capacity to subscribe to premium content. IOPP is one of 30 publishers participating in the initiative, furthering its mission to make scientific knowledge more accessible and impactful.
India is a key contributor to IOPP’s journals, consistently ranking among the top three in terms of submissions. Indian researchers produce groundbreaking work that helps shape the future of science. To honor these contributions, IOPP launched the India Top Cited Paper Awards, which celebrate the most-cited articles by Indian authors published in its journals.
The ONOS initiative aligns closely with IOPP’s values of impact, recognition, and equitable access to scientific research. By participating in ONOS, IOPP underscores its commitment to supporting the global scientific community while empowering Indian institutions and researchers.
This partnership is expected to accelerate knowledge-sharing and innovation in India, positioning the country as a leader in scientific advancement.
