IOP Publishing (IOP), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Physics, has announced that following its compliance with COUNTER's version 4 release, customers can now view additional compliant usage reports.
In addition to existing journal reports, IOP customers can also run: Journal Report 1 GOA &emdash; successful Gold Open Access article requests by month and by journal and Journal Report 2 &emdash full-text access denials by month, journal and category.
IOP ebooks™ reports are also available - Book Report 2 &emdash; number of successful section requests by month and title andBook Report 3 &emdash; access denied to content items by month, title and category.
Dynamic reporting has been introduced so that customers now have the option to specify the date range by month for the usage data they want to view, going back over the last 24 months. This feature will be especially useful for examining usage based on the fiscal or academic year.
COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of NeTworked Electronic Resources) is an initiative formed by libraries and publishers to provide consistent, credible and comparable usage reporting to help libraries understand how the information accessed from a variety of publishers is being used. The COUNTER4 release covers journals, databases and books, as well as multimedia content.
