Non-profit scientific publisher Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP), UK, has announced that IOPscience, its online platform for journal content, was awarded an honorable mention in the 'Best Website or Platform' category at the PROSE Awards in February 2009.
The PROSE Awards recognise the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content in over 35 disciplines. Judged by peer publishers, librarians, and medical professionals, the PROSE Awards are extraordinary for their breadth and depth.
IOPscience is an online service for journal content published by IOP. It contains more than 300,000 articles, from 1874 to the present day. Available through an electronic-only, site-wide license, the service is designed to give easy access to scientific, technical and medical content.
