Jisc launches sector survey to inform future FE digital content service -

Jisc has launched a new sector survey to help shape the future of its digital content service, including the e‑books for FE program. The initiative seeks input from further education (FE) practitioners to ensure that future licensing agreements and content offerings provide value, improve affordability, and support equitable access.

The survey is part of Jisc’s ongoing work to align digital resources with current teaching, learning, and curriculum needs. It builds on earlier discovery activities, including a request for information issued to platform and content providers and feedback gathered directly from the sector. An invitation to tender for platform providers is expected in the coming weeks.

The survey explores practical areas such as content requirements, workload, use of digital and AI tools, and how resources are accessed and applied in teaching. Findings will directly inform the design of the next phase of the service, supporting day‑to‑day delivery and evolving approaches to teaching and learning.

Completion time is estimated at 10–15 minutes. Jisc encourages colleagues to share the survey across their institutions to ensure broad and representative participation, particularly among those involved in teaching, curriculum design, and resource delivery.

Survey responses will be analyzed alongside existing research and used to guide the next stage of development. Jisc will provide further updates as the work progresses.
