JISC Techdis Accessible IT Practice Support Programme to focus on using IT for effective and inclusive communication -

JISC Techdis, a JISC Advance advisory service, has brought together a range of resources in one place to offer organisations the Accessible IT Practice Support Programme. The programme will help staff think about how they can use technology in a more inclusive way and meet the needs of all learners.

The online programme takes staff through 12 different modules from generic themes like improving productivity to more specific tutorials on getting the most out of ebooks and PowerPoint. The common thread in every module is pragmatic advice and guidance on potential inclusion benefits, potential barriers and - where appropriate - suggested workarounds.

The JISC Techdis Accessible IT Practice Support Programme seeks to provide an opportunity to raise awareness of inclusion issues at the same time as developing the skills to create more inclusive teaching and learning environments. These resources can be used flexibly in many ways including just-in-time staff development; as part of an internal training programme; and as part of an accredited qualification.

JISC Techdis has brought together a wide range of existing and new resources and by working with City & Guilds, has also mapped them to the ITQ framework.
