Jisc unveils updated learning analytics platform at Data Matters Conference -

At the Data Matters conference, Jisc, a not-for-profit education technology leader, launched its latest iteration of the learning analytics platform, designed to support universities in improving student retention and wellbeing. The new platform, which has been shaped by years of feedback from a broad community of users, aims to address the growing challenge of student dropouts that impact both institutions and students alike.

Jisc has long been at the forefront of developing data analytics tools for higher education, helping universities track and understand student performance. The updated platform takes this commitment a step further, offering an effective, cost-efficient solution that reflects the unique role Jisc plays as a vital partner in the education sector. By providing space for data professionals to share insights and best practices, Jisc has crafted a platform that not only supports students but also incorporates ethical considerations and robust data protection features from the ground up.

At the heart of the platform is a focus on student retention, aiming to help institutions monitor and support students at risk of falling behind. In an era of rising financial pressures, both students and universities stand to benefit from an early-warning system that allows for timely intervention and support. This approach ensures that students stay on track, achieve their academic goals, and ultimately complete their courses.

The launch event at Data Matters brought together key data professionals in higher and further education, showcasing Jisc's efforts to enhance data governance, management, and use within the sector. The conference also highlighted Jisc’s new data maturity framework, which provides institutions with tools to assess and improve their data capabilities.

Looking to the future, Jisc has committed to continuously evolving the learning analytics platform in response to sector needs, with a particular focus on student wellbeing. Future updates will enhance the platform's capabilities, providing even more tailored support for students and institutions alike.
